Women’s 2017 Spring Trends: What Women Want (to wear)
Spring has sprung, and so are we. As mentioned in our Men’s Spring Forecast story, The Lemonade Stand is here for the fashions the new season has to offer. Now that we have witnessed the looks move from the runway to the streets, we are here to tell you what we need, what we love, and what is here to stay for Summer, too. We took a list of our 20 favorite trends and cut it down to our top six picks that are sensible for any type of women.
In no particular order…
Yellow
We are kicking off our favorite trends for the season with a color forecast that is a must for both men and women. We showed the guys how to turn up in a bright way, and we can’t leave the ladies out. Chic and strong- don’t be intimidated to speak volumes with the help of the many shades of yellow you can add to your wardrobe.
White Shirt Dresses
Another color we saw all over the runway was white, but heavily in the shirt dress department. The variety of cuts, styles, lengths, etc. is a breath of fresh air; there are options! From Value Village ($) to Barneys ($$$), a white shirt dress is a must and accessible for all pocket sizes.
Flower Girl
Like clockwork, April showers will bring May flowers. This seasons’ florals are inspired by the Seventies style — bright and bold, and from head to toe. Take advantage of your local thrift shops while searching for your perfect, vintage, floral prints for Spring and Summer.
Art-wear
No better time to directly incorporate art and fashion. We’ve been spending a lot of time at the Seattle Art Museum, so when we saw the forecast of bold, stripes, and graphics (all things relevant in pop art), we basically died, hung out with Warhol, came back to life- and went out on a hunt for pieces to add to our museum, that is also known to most as a closet.
Sheer Genius
We love showing skin in a discreet, yet sexy way. Sheer fabric and cut outs are perfect options for doing just that. Use your imagination and show how this look can be acceptable at an array of events. Whether it’s a wedding or an evening kiki’ing with your boos- get into a fit that covers just enough and shows your favorite physical features at the same damn time.
Robes + Loungewear
Ending our list with a “dual duty” fashion trend because that is honestly one of our favorite types of trends. Loungewear can be expensive AF, so why not get your money’s worth and pair your robe with a romper, or a nighty with a trench? Be the Queen that you are behind closed doors, everywhere. Utilizing simple pieces, in a trendy way, is going to be key for the next couple seasons, so get creative and think outside of the box in 2017.
