Minor League Update: 2019 Season

The 2019 baseball season might be over but fall and winter leagues have already begun. How did former GJ Rox players do in 2019? Read more below to find out.

Colorado Rockies

Carlos Estévez: Estévez made 71 appearances for the Rockies in 2019. He compiled a record of 2–2 with an ERA of 3.75 through 72 innings with 23 walks and 81 strikeouts.

Kyle Freeland: Freeland split time between Colorado and Albuquerque and also battled injuries in 2019 including a blister on his left middle finger and a left groin strain. While at the MLB level, he made 22 appearances with a record of 3–11 and a 6.73 ERA. Through 104.1 innings of work, he walked 39 and struck out 79.

Jon Gray: Gray made 26 appearances with a record of 11–8 and an ERA of 3.84 through 150 innings pitched with 56 walks and 150 strikeouts. He was placed on the 60-day injured list at the end of August with a left foot fracture.

Sam Howard: Howard also spent the season going between Albuquerque and Colorado. While at the MLB level, he made 20 appearances compiling a 2–0 record and an ERA of 6.63 through 19 innings of work with 10 walks and 23 strikeouts.

Peter Lambert: Lambert started the 2019 season in Albuquerque before being called up by the Rockies. He made his MLB debut on June 6th. In 2019, he compiled a record of 3–7 with a 7.25 ERA through 89.1 innings with 36 walks and 57 strikeouts.

Scott Oberg: Oberg suited up in 49 games for the Rockies this season going 6–1 with a 2.25 ERA through 56 innings with 23 walks and 58 strikeouts. He was put on the 60-day injured list towards the end of August due to a blood clot in his right arm.

Dom Nuñez: Nuñez spent most of 2019 in Albuquerque before being called up to the Colorado Rockies to make his big league debut on August 13th. He played in 16 games for the Rockies hitting .179 and slugging .410 with three doubles, two home runs, four RBI, three walks and 17 strikeouts.

Ryan McMahon: McMahon played in 141 games for the Rockies this season hitting .250 and slugging .450 with 22 doubles, a triple, 24 home runs, and 83 RBI with 56 walks, 160 strikeouts, and five stolen bases.

Brendan Rodgers: Rodgers started the year in Albuquerque and he was called up to make his MLB debut with the Rockies on May 17th. He played in 25 games for Colorado hitting .224 and slugging .250 with two doubles, seven RBI, four walks, and 27 strikeouts. He was put on the 60-day injured list in mid-July due to right shoulder impingement.

David Dahl: Dahl played in 100 games for the Rockies hitting .302 and slugging .524 with 28 doubles, five triples, 15 home runs, 61 RBI, 28 walks, 110 strikeouts, and four stolen bases. He was put on the injured list in August due to a high right ankle sprain. He was one of four Colorado Rockies players named 2019 MLB All-Stars.

Yonathan Daza: Daza went back and forth between Albuquerque and Colorado for most of the 2019 season. He made his major league debut for the Rockies on April 9th. He suited up for 44 games at the MLB level in 2019 hitting .206 and slugging .237 with a double, a triple, three RBI, seven walks, 21 strikeouts and a stolen base. While in Albuquerque, he was named a Pacific Coast League All-Star.

Sam Hilliard: Hilliard spent most of the 2019 season in Albuquerque. He was called up to make his major league debut on August 27th. He played in 27 games hitting .273 and slugging .649 with four doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 13 RBI, nine walks, 23 strikeouts, and two stolen bases. While in Albuquerque, he was named a Pacific Coast League All-Star.

Raimel Tapia: Tapia played in 138 games for the Rockies in 2019. He hit .275 and slugged .415 with 23 doubles, five triples, nine home runs, 44 RBI, 21 walks, 100 strikeouts, and nine stolen bases.

Albuquerque Isotopes

Heath Holder: Holder spent most of the season in Hartford but was promoted to Albuquerque on August 17th. His overall numbers for the 2019 season between the two teams are he made 31 appearances compiling a record of 8–5 with a 2.85 ERA through 101 innings of work with 28 walks and 105 strikeouts.

Harrison Musgrave: Musgrave spent time going between Colorado and Albuquerque. While with the Isotopes, he made 21 appearances with a record of 0–2 and an ERA of 10.13 through 24 innings with 12 walks and 23 strikeouts.

Matt Pierpont: Pierpont made 25 appearances for the Isotopes going 2–2 with a 2.65 ERA through 34 innings with 14 walks and 33 strikeouts.

Chris Rabago: Rabago split time between Hartford and Albuquerque in 2019. While with the Isotopes, he played in 14 games hitting .259 and slugging .407 with two doubles, two home runs, seven RBI, three walks, and 12 strikeouts.

Todd Czinege: Czinege spent most of the 2019 season with the Lancaster JetHawks but was promoted to Albuquerque on August 27th. Between the two teams, he played in 93 games hitting .228 and slugging .425 with 14 doubles, three triples, 16 home runs, 53 RBI, 24 walks, 129 strikeouts, and a stolen base.

Roberto Ramos: Ramos suited up for 127 games for the Isotopes in 2019 hitting .309 and slugging .580 with 27 doubles, 30 home runs, 105 RBI, 61 walks, and 141 strikeouts.

Hartford Yard Goats

Ty Culbreth: Culbreth made 18 appearances compiling a record of 3–8 with a 4.26 ERA through 80.1 innings with 23 walks and 53 strikeouts.

Matt Dennis: Dennis made 14 appearances going 5–4 with an ERA of 3.29 through 82 innings with 21 walks and 59 strikeouts.

Rayan González: Gonzalez made 44 appearances with a record of 3–1 and an ERA of 2.08 through 56.1 innings with 27 walks and 56 strikeouts.

Alexander Guillen: Guillen made 37 appearances compiling a record of 2–2 with an ERA of 1.53 through 76.2 innings with 21 walks and 91 strikeouts. He was one of the four Yard Goats named 2019 Eastern League All-Stars.

Reid Humphreys: Humphreys battled injuries this season. While with the Yard Goats, he made four appearances with a record of 0–1 and an ERA of 15.00 through three innings with two walks and two strikeouts.

Brian Serven: Serven played in 77 games hitting .202 and slugging .364 with 12 doubles, nine home runs, 30 RBI, 22 walks, 61 strikeouts, and a stolen base.

Tyler Nevin: Nevin played in 130 games hitting .251 and slugging .399 with 26 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs, 61 RBI, 65 walks, 90 strikeouts, and six stolen bases.

Alan Trejo: Trejo played in 125 games hitting .243 and slugging .391 with 20 doubles, 15 home runs, 49 RBI, 25 walks, 105 strikeouts, and five stolen bases. He was one of the four Yard Goats named 2019 Eastern League All-Stars.

Colton Welker: Welker played in 98 games hitting .252 and slugging .408 with 23 doubles, 1 triple, 10 home runs, 53 RBI, 32 walks, 68 strikeouts, and two stolen bases. He was one of the four Yard Goats named 2019 Eastern League All-Stars.

Vince Fernandez: Fernandez played in 74 games hitting .257 and slugging .543 with 15 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 35 RBI, 28 walks, 86 strikeouts, and a stolen base.

Mylz Jones: Jones split time between Albuquerque and Hartford. During his time with the Yard Goats, he played in 98 games hitting .239 and slugging .385 with 15 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 33 RBI, 22 walks, 69 strikeouts, and 17 stolen bases.

Manuel Melendez: Melendez playing in 128 games for the Yard Goats in 2019 hitting .258 and slugging .346 with 22 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 47 RBI, 20 walks, 57 strikeouts, and 18 stolen bases.

Lancaster JetHawks

Moises Ceja: Ceja made 40 appearances compiling a record of 5–3 and a 3.57 ERA with a save through 75.2 innings with 15 walks and 81 strikeouts.

Tommy Doyle: Doyle made 38 appearances with a 2–3 record, 3.25 ERA, and 19 saves through 36 innings with 13 walks and 48 strikeouts.

Will Gaddis: Gaddis made 27 appearances going 10–7 with an ERA of 5.86 through 146 innings with 48 walks and 79 strikeouts.

Lucas Gilbreath: Gilbreath made 28 appearances for the JetHawks in 2019 compiling a record of 5–10 with a 5.81 ERA through 144 innings with 74 walks and 143 strikeouts.

Hayden Roberts: Roberts made 32 appearances going 4–1 with a 6.02 ERA through 40.1 innings with 26 walks and 34 strikeouts.

Ryan Rolison: Rolison started the season in Asheville before being promoted to Lancaster on April 22nd. While with the JetHawks, he made 22 appearances compiling a record of 6–7 with an ERA of 4.87 through 116.1 innings with 38 walks and 118 strikeouts. He was named a 2019 California League All-Star.

Joel Diaz: Diaz played in 52 games hitting .293 and slugging .351 with 11 doubles, 22 RBI, 14 walks, 55 strikeouts, and a stolen base.

Hidekel Gonzalez: Gonzalez battled injuries in 2019 playing in eight games for the JetHawks hitting .179 and slugging .214 with a double, two RBI, two walks, and 14 strikeouts.

Luis Castro: Castro split the 2019 season between Lancaster and Hartford. While with the JetHawks, he suited up for 106 games hitting .317 and slugging .584 with 24 doubles, two triples, 25 home runs, 98 RBI, 61 walks, 98 strikeouts, and 14 stolen bases. He was also named a 2019 California League All-Star.

Taylor Snyder: Snyder played in 103 games hitting .276 and slugging .485 with 19 doubles, four triples, 18 home runs, 69 RBI, 27 walks, 127 strikeouts, and 16 stolen bases.

Ryan Vilade: Vilade played in 128 games hitting .303 and slugging .466 with 27 doubles, 10 triples, 12 home runs, 71 RBI, 56 walks, 95 strikeouts, and 24 stolen bases.

Casey Golden: Golden played in 104 games hitting .253 and slugging .493 with 19 doubles, two triples, 23 home runs, 64 RBI, 48 walks, 158 strikeouts, and nine stolen bases. He was named a 2019 California League All-Star and also won the 2019 California League Home Run Derby.

Ramon Marcelino: Marcelino played in 104 games hitting .226 and slugging .453 with 26 doubles, six triples, 16 home runs, 57 RBI, 14 walks, 120 strikeouts, and three stolen bases. He was also named a 2019 California League All-Star.

Asheville Tourists

Jake Bird: Bird made 40 appearances going 7–2 with a 3.38 ERA and two saves through 97 innings of work with 42 walks and 80 strikeouts. He was named a 2019 South Atlantic League All-Star.

Ryan Feltner: Feltner made 25 appearances compiling a record of 9–9 with an ERA of 5.07 through 119 innings with 46 walks and 116 strikeouts.

Trent Fennell: Fennell went up and down in the Rockies farm system in 2019 pitching for Albuquerque, Lancaster, Boise, and Asheville this season. While with the Tourists, he made nine appearances compiling an 0–2 record with an ERA of 5.91 through 21.1 innings with 10 walks and 27 strikeouts.

Alexander Martinez: Martinez made 52 appearances with a 6–4 record, 2.48 ERA, and 14 saves through 58 innings of work with 17 walks and 69 strikeouts. He was named a 2019 South Atlantic League All-Star.

Mike Nikorak: Nikorak made 16 appearances with no decisions and an ERA of 9.69 through 13 innings with 20 walks and 13 strikeouts.

Riley Pint: Pint made 21 appearances going 0–1 with an ERA of 8.66 through 17.2 innings with 31 walks and 23 strikeouts.

Reagan Todd: Todd split the 2019 season between Boise and Asheville. While with the Tourists, he made 11 appearances compiling a record of 2–0 with an 0.71 ERA through 12.2 innings with three walks and 18 strikeouts.

Will Tribucher: Like Todd, Tribucher also split the 2019 season between Boise and Asheville. With the Tourists, he made 15 appearances going 1–1 with an ERA of 7.02 through 16.2 innings of work with seven walks and 20 strikeouts.

Derrik Watson: Watson made 34 appearances with a record of 4–2 and an ERA of 3.28 through 60.1 innings with 43 walks and 72 strikeouts.

Javier Guevara: Guevara suited up for 45 games hitting .199 and slugging .255 with nine doubles, 14 RBI, six walks, and 34 strikeouts.

John Cresto: Cresto played in 67 games hitting .280 and slugging .485 with 28 doubles, seven home runs, 50 RBI, 14 walks, 74 strikeouts, and 12 stolen bases.

Grant Lavigne: Lavigne played in 126 games hitting .236 and slugging .327 with 19 doubles, seven home runs, 64 RBI, 68 walks, 129 strikeouts, and eight stolen bases.

Coco Montes: Montes played in 132 games hitting .258 and slugging .406 with 29 doubles, three triples, 13 home runs, 89 RBI, 29 walks, 122 strikeouts, and six stolen bases.

Niko Decolati: Decolati played in 77 games hitting .265 and slugging .399 with 13 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 38 RBI, 13 walks, 80 strikeouts, and 15 stolen bases.

Will Golsan: Golsan played in 103 games hitting .259 and slugging .359 with 19 doubles, one triple, six home runs, 39 RBI, 43 walks, 87 strikeouts, and 12 stolen bases.

Daniel Montano: Montano played in 122 games hitting .218 and slugging .344 with 30 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 41 RBI, 35 walks, 119 strikeouts, and 17 stolen bases.

Boise Hawks

Colton Harlow: Harlow split the 2019 season between Asheville and Boise. While with the Hawks, he made eight appearances going 1–1 with an ERA of 9.00 through six innings with seven walks and 11 strikeouts.

Colton Hathcock: Hatchcock made 13 appearances compiling a record of 0–3 with an ERA of 7.59 through 10.2 innings with four walks and 13 strikeouts.

Jeffri Ocando: Ocando made 13 appearances with a record of 1–8 with an ERA of 7.62 through 54.1 innings of work with 16 walks and 37 strikeouts.

Rayne Supple: Supple made 17 appearances with a record of 0–2 and an ERA of 9.72 through 16.2 innings with 10 walks and 17 strikeouts.

Nic Motley: Motley split the season between Boise and Lancaster. While with the Hawks, he played in 22 games hitting .209 and slugging .313 with a double, two home runs, 10 RBI, four walks, and 30 strikeouts.

LJ Hatch: Hatch split the season between Albuquerque, Asheville, Lancaster, and Boise. While with the Hawks, he played in 17 games hitting .241 and slugging .293 with three doubles, five RBI, 10 walks, and 15 strikeouts.

Zach Hall: Hall played in 23 games hitting .159 and slugging .302 with three doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI, 11 walks, 24 strikeouts, and two stolen bases.
