· Colleen Cassady St. Clair, Professor, Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Science — received the 2017 CAFA Distinguished Academic Award
· Dylan Gibbs, Student, Faculty of Law — won the Insolvency Institute of Canada Writing Award
· Dennis Hall, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science — elected to the Royal Society of Canada
· Nick Holt, Professor & Associate Dean of Research, Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation — named to the Royal Society of Canada’s College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists
· Kurt Konhauser, Professor, Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Faculty of Science — elected to the Royal Society of Canada
· Lianne Lefsrud, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering, Faculty of Engineering — received the 2017 CAFA Distinguished Academic Early Career Award
· Jamie Pasemko, Pandas Soccer — named Athlete of the Week
· Marcia Spetch, Professor, Department of Psychology, Faculty of Science — elected to the Royal Society of Canada
· Lori West, Professor, CRC in in Cardiac Transplantation, and Director (Canadian National Transplant Research Program, Alberta Transplant Institute), Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry — elected to the Royal Society of Canada
· David Wishart, Professor, Faculties of Science, Medicine & Dentistry, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences — elected to the Royal Society of Canada
