I am sure this is a pretty common thing most of you reading this would have experienced at least once in the relationships you have had so far. You would have had sex right after an argument or ended an argument with sex.

It seems like there is a pretty interesting reason behind it called “Excitation transfer”.

  • What is Excitation Transfer? Think of excitation transfer as confusing one feeling for another. It’s like when your body or emotions are stirred up due to one thing, but your brain thinks it’s because of something else.
  • Feeling More Attracted After Arguments: Let’s take the example of a couple arguing. Arguments can be intense, right? They make your heart race, and you might feel really fired up. After the argument is over, those intense feelings don’t just vanish instantly. They linger for a bit. Now, here’s the interesting part: the couple might mistake these leftover intense feelings from the argument for feelings of passion or attraction towards each other.
