Plot
‘The Artful Dodger’ is set in the bustling colony of Port Victory during the Australian gold rush of the 1850s. This literary work delves into the adult life of Jack Dawkins, who is also known as The Artful Dodger. Formerly a nimble pickpocket, Dawkins has successfully transformed himself into a proficient surgeon. Nonetheless, his past catches up with him when the notorious Fagin resurfaces, luring him back into a life of criminal activities. Adding to the complexity of the situation is Lady Belle, the determined daughter of the Governor. She aspires to become the first female surgeon in the colony, further escalating the conflicts and challenges faced by the characters.
