3 down, 5 to go

digital leopard quilt

Hey y’all. I know you’re thinking, “It’s about damn time, Jessi!” I feel your pain, but truth be told, I’m still getting into the swing of things with this blogging business, or whatever you wanna call this. I promise to step it up in the future.

So here’s the update of my January quilt: I have 20 squares finished, of a total of 42…. AND I ran out of one of the fabrics. AND I’m about to run out of two more fabrics. I’m serious. Is your jaw on the floor? Mine was, but I picked it up and commissioned my Mom to help me track down some of the fabrics. She has found 3 of 6 and the hunt is still on. For those of you thinking, “Uh do you really need them? Can’t you just buy a few more that look sorta similar and move on?” (eye roll) Here’s the deal, I’m 20/42 finished, that’s 10/11, which is basically half. Literally, one more square and I’d be half finished. That means if I run out of three fabrics half way through, then half the quilt is missing three fabrics and perhaps some people won’t even notice, but I will… and I think other people will notice. And those people will think exactly what actually happened, which is “She ran out of fabric! Haha.” I’m just too persnickety to move forward without those fabrics. I can’t convince myself to do so, therefore, the quilt is kind-of on hold until I find those fabrics.

Until then, I will be spending time designing February’s quilt (hint: if you like the show Psych, you might appreciate it) and I’ll leave you will some photos. The last two are the three rows finished and sewn together. Are you starting to see leopard? I am, so do me a favor and lie to me and say that you see it too. Thanks!

xo, Jessi
