Psalm 1: Like a Tree

I make good fruit — A Kyrielle

When I am planted by the streams
I do not wither in the drought,
And I accomplish all my dreams,
And like a tree, I make good fruit.

I do not sit with those who mock
Or stand with those who think that’s cute,
And with the hateful I won’t walk.
‘Stead like a tree, I make good fruit.

If you will walk with me a while,
And you can be with me without
Condemning my “sinful lifestyle”,
Know like a tree, I make good fruit.

The greatest of these all is love,
And love is love without a doubt.
Who became sin came from above,
And like a tree, love makes good fruit.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
