I am base, depraved, and vile —
Rescue me, O God!
Plead my cause and redeem me;
Breathe new life into my soul.

Many are my enemies,
And many are Your mercies, Lord.
I will not turn away from You
Although I cannot see Your face,
Although I cannot hear Your voice.

Have You forsaken me, O God?

I am appalled and weary
Of the false and treacherous
Who claim Your Name,
For they do not seek Your Word.

Revive me, Love.
Your Word is Truth.

O, let me be with You forever.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
