Psalm 21 — King and Bride

An English Sonnet

I prayed that what I’d lost You might restore,
But over and above You gave instead.
I asked for life and You gave so much more:
You set a crown of gold upon my head,
You gave me life unending, made me king,
You laid Your banquet table just for me,
Upon my finger placed a golden ring,
And to Your House You gave to me a key.
You sought my hand that I may be Your bride
And laid a burning coal upon my lips;
You drew me ‘neath Your wing, against Your side.
Together evermore in fellowship,
We dance together clothed in white, we shine:
Forever I am Yours and You are mine.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
