Psalm 25 — Let Me Not Be Ashamed

A ballad

To You, O Lord, I lift my hands,
My head, my heart, my soul;
And I will not be made ashamed
For You have made me whole.

My enemy despises me
Although they claim Your name.
They lie in wait to waylay me,
Rebuke, assign me blame.

To You, O Lord, I lift my hands,
To You I lift my voice,
And I will not be made ashamed;
Instead I will rejoice.

Lord, You have not apportioned shame —
No, You delight in me.
So I will glory in my self:
How I was meant to be.

To You, O Lord, I lift my hands,
And I have naught to fear.
Oh, I will not be made ashamed,
For You know I am queer.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
