Psalm 3 — God is My Ally

A Kyrielle

When the world stands up against me,
I raise my hands, cry out to Thee.
You are the Truth, You make me free.
Oh God, You are my ally.

And when Your followers are cruel,
Subjugating love to their rules,
I stand my ground; I am no fool,
For God, You are my ally.

They say that You are on their side
And I am blinded by my pride,
But yet, I know I am Your Bride.
Oh God, You are my ally.

You giveth Your Beloved rest;
Your banner over me is blest,
And in Your finery I’m dressed.
Oh God, You are my ally.

Oh, Lord, You are my shield and spear;
Beside You, there is naught to fear.
With You, I’m here and I am queer
For God, You are my ally.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
