Psalm 39 — Burning in My Heart

When I was cold and silent, dead,
A flame ignited in my heart;
The fire burned, with outrage fed
When I was cold and silent, dead.
Oh, if I knew the end, I’d start
To work toward what lies ahead.
When I was cold and silent, dead,
A flame ignited in my heart.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
