Have mercy, Oh Lord — A Kyrielle

How long will you people turn My glory to shame?
How long will you bear rotten fruit in My Name?
How long will you hold only others to blame?

Have mercy, Oh Lord, hear my prayer.

“Well done, faithful servant,” the Lord said to me.
The truth of God’s love has now made me free:
More vast than the sky and more deep than the sea.
Have mercy, Oh Lord, hear my prayer.

In peace I will lie down for You keep me safe;
I am under Your wings, in Your arms, by Your grace;
My heart fills with joy in the light of Your face;
Have mercy, Oh Lord, hear my prayer.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
