Psalm 46 — Be Still and Know

Oh, when the oceans storm and roar,
You are there; I have no fear,
And though the earth may shake, I hear,
“Be still and know that I am God.”

A river flows that will make glad
The city, people, of our God.
Though nations rage; it all goes bad,
“Be still and know that I am God.”

Oh, You will cause all war to cease;
You melt our hearts to bring us peace;
You speak to violence: “Decease!
Be still and know that I am God.”

The strong and haughty should beware
You listen to the humble pray’r,
And they’ll be caught in their own snare.
“Be still and know that I am God.”

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
