A Kyrielle

Why do you boast in your greed,
Loving evil more than good?
I am like an olive tree
Rooted in the house of God.

Like a razor, sharp and cruel,
Lying with devouring words.
I am like an olive tree
Rooted in the house of God.

God will pluck you out and raze
Land and roots where you once lived.
I am like an olive tree
Rooted in the house of God.

When you trust in wealth and riches,
You’ll become a parody.
I am like an olive tree
Rooted in the house of God.

In the presence of Your saints,
Hold Your Name, for it is good.
I am like an olive tree
Rooted in the house of God.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
