Psalm 53 — To Do Good

A Ballad

Have you no knowledge to do good?
You think I do not see
The way you try to shame and fear
The ones who follow Me?

You’ve turned aside from what is true,
Defiled your hands and heart,
Devoured those you deem “less than”,
And set yourself apart.

Have you no knowledge to do good?
You think I do not hear
The way you wield My Word to make
My people live in fear?

Your hollow words give praise to Me
But it is all a lie.
Your heart proclaims, “There is no God.”
You fool! Your judgement’s nigh.

Have you no knowledge to do good?
You think I do not see
The way you try to shame and fear
The ones who follow Me?

Oh, what do I require of you
But justice, mercy, love,
And walking with humility?
But at these things you scoff.
