My enemy is arrogant,
Attacking me with vicious glee.
Oh God, to me Your comfort grant.
Oh, hear me, Lord; save me.

Let their own deeds recoil on them:
Their evil, slander, cruelty;
The fruits of their actions condemn.
Oh, hear me, Lord; save me.

They hate me for my self, my soul;
They wish that I would cease to be,
For who I am they can’t control.
Oh, hear me, Lord; save me.

And I will praise Your goodness, Lord,
For You’ll ensure my victory.
My rival’s debt they can’t afford.
Oh, hear me, Lord; save me.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
