Psalm 60 — With God We Will Do Valiantly

The earth is broken, shaking, reft,
Divided, cracked, and torn apart.
Oh God, restore us! Heal my heart,
For You have cast us off, bereft.

You have shown us
Difficult things,
And made us drink
The wine of stumbling.
Let Your Beloved be delivered.
Hear us!

Who will help us? Who will thwart
Our enemy’s attempted theft
Of everything that we have left?
Oh God, restore us! Heal my heart!

Is it not You, oh God
Who cast us off?
Help us,
Save us,
For the help of man is useless.

Dios nuestro, tú los vencerás;
¡con tu ayuda saldremos victoriosos!

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
