Psalm 8 — Maker of the Moon and Stars

The Maker of the moon and stars
Has crowned my head with majesty.
Lord, who am I that Yours is ours,
That You should share it all with me?

I come before Your throne exposed,
Oh Maker of the moon and stars;
Your heart is never ever closed,
And You receive me as a peer.

All within the earth, sea, and air
You’ve given me to cultivate.
Oh Maker of the moon and stars,
Despite my flaws, You call me great.

Why should You share it all with me,
Oh Maker of the moon and stars?

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
