Psalm 81 — Honey From the Rock

Three chunks of honeycomb are stacked on a wooden surface. Honey pools around the base of the honeycomb on the wood.

When I delivered you from chains
And loosed you from captivity,
I met you in the secret place
And fed you honey from the rock.

In the secret place of thunder,
At the waters of contention,
You called on Me, I redeemed you,
And fed you honey from the rock.

Hear, my people! I exhort you
For you have turned your hearts from Me:
Repent, return, and hear My voice —
I’ll feed you honey from the rock.

The haters of My Word pretend
To be My zealous disciples,
But they will have no part in Me
Or in My honey from the rock.

I feed my children finest wheat,
Soft bread and vegetables and meat;
They’re satisfied whene’er they eat.
They sup on honey from the rock.

Esther learned to read when she was four years old, and began writing shortly thereafter. She is a queer Christian poet, crafting with words to create art and music.
