Heart In Your Mouth

She is standing over there
Eating a rather ripe pear
So you pluck up the courage
To shakily cross that yardage
Just to panic, vomit, and despair

This time when he comes up to you
You know exactly what to do
You will greet him and append
“How was your weekend?”
Yet you mumble, randomly, of honeydew

It was an insignificant affection
A weak-kneed injection
Yet no matter its meaning
Or inclined romantic leaning
You still ended up with an erection
