From Pushcart Peddlers to John Galt

When I was 10-years-old a book came out that resonated with me. I‘ve remembered it to this day.

The book was Jean Merrill’s The Pushcart War. Set in New York City the story is about limited road space and the need of large trucking companies to use the roads. They decide to take over the streets for their exclusive use by pushing other road users out. They meet and plan to start a war on competitors…
