Why Can’t Rand’s Critics Be Fair, and Why are Her Fans Often Worse?

It seems to me that people can’t criticize Rand without resorting to insults. If they aren’t insulting her, they insult anyone who finds value in her work. It’s an endless stream of name-calling which implies to me a lack of rational justification which is made up for with a vitriolic, emotional response.
