Some women’s bodies will be found, some won’t.

“Women, You Are Not Equal” was the headline I started off with last week when I wrote a story that ended up being titled It’s Not Wrong to Care about Gabby Petito. I set out to relate the all-too-familiar story of a woman killed by her partner to women’s systematic and persistent inequality in the eyes of the law in America.
