A Little Afternoon Delight

Free Verse Poetry — An Erotic Poem in Two Parts

Tomatoes blush
As I turn to welcome your kiss
Still a few more days, I say
Knowing how you love them
Warm off the vine

I continue with my spade
Turning up soil to keep it loose
You pull a green one
And I hand you another
A fried sandwich would be nice

I notice the glisten of sweat
Running down your brow
Your neck, settling between breasts
Let out a gasping sigh, and then
Shoo you back into the kitchen
You wilt under this Oklahoma sun

As I snip herbs for the night’s meal,
I watch you standing at the stove
Your hips swaying to a song on the radio
And I long to put my hands there
Holding you tightly, dancing together

Lunch is going to be late

I put the herbs in a vase on the table
And head straight for the shower
I am almost finished when I feel your hands
Encircle my waist, your lips caressing my back
I turn, breasts touching breasts, and kiss you

Turning off the shower, I lead you to the bed
You shiver as my fingers glide across your skin
And my knee presses between your thighs
You moan as we both shudder

Perhaps dinner will be late as well

I awaken to your head on my shoulder
your legs entwine with mine
and your hand cupping my breast

I shiver from the cold blast of the a/c
Feeling my nipples harden,
and a longing between my thighs

I want to make love to you again
to feel your silky wetness
to kiss you from neck to toe

You stir; I caress your back
gently pull you closer to me
and kiss your forehead

You kiss me back, lips touching lips
grinding your body on top of mine
feathery licks upon my breasts

In the last rays of the evening sun
we make love once more
slow, tender then wild, passionate

Perhaps a late evening snack
is in order
