The jazz club was smoky. I grabbed a bourbon at the bar and sat in a dark corner. Weary. Listening — eyes half closed.

A voice drifted by. Her voice. Angelic, like a million heavenly symphonies.

It’d been a long time since I’d been to church, but tonight, God found me.
