Time Stands Still

Whole days and nights pass us by

Photo by Dylan Taylor on Unsplash

~for julia Hawkins~

there are no sunrises or sunsets
when we are together — time stands still
only you and I move through this cosmos
entwined as one — rising and falling
on endless waves of this sensual sea

your touch like a million sun rays
warms my skin, sends frenzied jolts
coursing through breasts and limbs
traveling up thighs, across soft valleys
my body quivers with release

I return each caress trailed by kisses
lingering at your silvery lake — you flow
like the gentle lull of the full moon
upon this earth — your body heaves
moans and shivers to the rhythm of the tides

and when we are both spent, curled together
upon this rich bed of moss, time moves again
whole days and nights have passed us by
and we laugh and sigh, rejoicing in bliss
as light and dark shimmer upon glistening skin
