Mr. Sosa, our new principal for the upcoming academic year, has unveiled several exciting initiatives designed to improve student life at Sci-Tech High School.

In a recent interview, Mr. Sosa highlighted these changes, including the introduction of “MEGAlunch” and “Ravens’ Nest.”

Although Mr. Sosa was tight-lipped about future plans, he assured, “While I can’t share specifics right now, we are certainly looking to add more for our scholars,” showing his respect for the school’s privacy policies.

After leading Sci-Tech High through the 2022–2023 academic year, Principal Scott passed the reins to Mr. Sosa. Students, naturally curious about this transition, have been heartened to see Mr. Sosa’s clear focus on both student life and academic enrichment.

Highlighting some of the changes, “Mega-lunch” will be introduced on Fridays, providing students from 12:11 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a block of free time, followed by a 30-minute lunch break.

This initiative aims to give students an opportunity to catch up on studies or simply socialize. Additionally, “Ravens’ Nest,” an enhanced version of the advisory period, will run from 3:25 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.

Participation in “Mega-lunch” is contingent upon students maintaining satisfactory grades and fulfilling all their academic commitments.

When questioned about the potential impact of “Mega-lunch” on student motivation, Mr. Sosa remarked, “We’re already witnessing a shift in scholar habits and completion of work.

Mega-lunch underscores that with determination, success is within everyone’s grasp.

Acknowledging the essential role of communication, Mr. Sosa stated,

“It’s crucial to be transparent. Trust is easily broken when there’s a lack of honesty. I believe in leading by example; teachers should see me actively involved, demonstrating my commitment to the school, our scholars, and the staff.”

He further emphasized the importance of team collaboration, valuing the diverse perspectives of Sci-Tech’s outstanding faculty before finalizing any decisions.
