RAVENS SET TO GIVE MACLIN A GO

An interesting fortnight for Jeremy Maclin after the Chiefs told him to shove off — he had plenty of teams having a crack, but I think he’ll make a bird of it in Baltimore. I know I rubbished him after he left KC, but this isn’t me having a bet each way — I just think he’s a better fit with the Ravens. They’ll put him in the slot — something KC didn’t do enough — and I think that possie fits him like a franger. Plus, with Dennis Pitta’s hip well and truly rooted, and Steve Smith saying hooroo, I think Maclin will have heaps of passes coming his way.

TEAMS NOT QUEUING UP FOR BABINEAUX

Jonathan Babineaux, it might be time to twig what’s going on — not many people on the dog and bone asking about your services, I’d say it’s time to lock in those post-footy plans. Babs had a helluva career, and his blood‘s worth bottling — even your pollies gave him a gong a few years back. But after his performance trailed off last season, it’s time to call stumps. Especially with word out he’s dealing with a bodgy shoulder.

INGRAM WANTS A FAIR CRACK OF THE WHIP

And I just had a squizz at what Mark Ingram’s telling the journos in New Orleans — reading between the lines, I think he’s done his nut about Adrian Peterson cutting his grass. And I gotta say, I don’t blame him. Every man and his dog thinks Peterson is still the duck’s guts, but I think his days of being a number one back are done like dinner. Too right Ingram’s a bit narky. The whole situation sounds a bit suss to me, especially after Ingram finally came right last year and posted a 1,000-yard season.
