Love Vs Money

Which do you favour?

A huge family hug to those who honoured us with their presence yesterday! Special shoutout to people from “Together”. Time went by too fast!

So a few questions and statements during the Q and A really caught our attention. We wonder how many more people are going through all these issues. Issues they’re sorta not allowed to discuss openly. (kudos to those who spoke up). Okay, nuff’ said.

Here are five highlights from yesterday’s event

  1. Let’s Be Open
This bros said “I earn way more than she does, and she says ‘let’s be open about things’, I can’t be open because she already tags me in expensive items on Instagram ”. Haba! So you were building your own life and talking about IG likes with her ba?

Love is not enough. Both your lives should complement each other before you say I do.

2. Your Money is Our Money, My Money is my Money
Our first speaker shared his story and his advice stuck. Try to put your hands to work woman. Imagine if the bread winner was no longer the bread winner. Work and contribute to your home with that energy.

He said “work as if you were taking care of your kids alone”

3. Trust
This bros said “my wife is high maintenance and I’m afraid to tell her how much I make, or how I make, it so she doesn’t ask for too much”. Once again, you need to know who you’re marrying and why. You cannot trust a stranger, talk less of trusting them with your finances.

That guy was a savage!

4. Borrow Borrow
This one boyfriend who borrowed from every Tope, Dami and Hakeem. To the tune of 1.2 million Naira. She asked for some help with her business and it all came out. Damn! At least it all came out early. Now they can talk about it and plan their lives going forward.

Man like this guy!

You really can win at both. It is Love and money not love vs money. They go hand in hand. As you plan your wedding dress, the tuxedo, the limo to go in, the 200k weave, the designer shoes and the event center, also plan for your financial stability after marriage.

There are more important things like school fees, house rent, food to consider. It is wise to know and trust who you’re with, even with your finances.

Love,
REACH.
