First of all. The nostalgia!

Now down to the reason why we’re here. Nneka’s supernatural powers were all she needed to captivate rich, unavailable men and turn them into her zombies, doing her every bidding, no matter what she asked. She also had to contend with a number of obstacles and in turn didn’t hesitate to destroy anything that stood between her and her desires.

This is the story of some of us girls in this Lagos: We are never satisfied with what we have and use all means to get what we want.

These are some ways some of us act

  1. Peruvian Utopia
Where you’re earning 50K but carrying four months’ salary on your head. How tho? Why? That’s the power of deception, because you must be performing magic.

Humble yourself

2. Shoe Flu
When your shoe collection is bigger than the collection of books you’ve read. You're oozing with affluence but haven’t influenced anyone positively.

No aunty, es not good

3. Dubai High
The one time you went to Dubai on vacation and kept the pictures to post over the span of one year. You better stop riding on that high and face your front.

I see what you did there tho.

4. Designer Miner
You’d rather buy clothes with your last money than eat well. You buy things you don’t need to impress people you don’t like.

Nneka finally met her downfall when it all turned on her. She was back to nothing. After all, her goals were not real goals: she only became a nuisance to herself and everyone else.

To be content doesn’t mean that you don’t desire more, it means that you are thankful for what you have and patient for what’s to come. Work with what little you have, be a genuinely better version of you, feed your mind and focus on happiness that isn’t based on the quality of weaves you have.
