In my case, the chicken came before the egg; my blog name came before I even wanted to start a blog.

“The Real Ronen Wolf” came about when I was solely looking to build my personal brand on social media (Instagram, specifically).

You see, apparently, there are other Ronen Wolf’s out there that think they’re so fucking special that they get to steal my name and use it as their handle! (Clearly, I’m still bitter)

Obviously, these other Ronen Wolf’s are not me, so I decided to adopt “The Real Ronen Wolf” to build my brand around.

As I was building up my social media presence, I quickly realized that, when I decided to change my life, I’m going to be traveling the world and living a unique lifestyle … Even though I’ll be posting pictures of it on social media, maybe I should start a blog.

And, when I initially left on my journey, I figured it was a great time to start a lifestyle/travel blog.

Of course, “The Real Ronen Wolf” was not a name that I wanted to use for my blog, so, as I was flying to New Zealand, I couldn’t stop thinking about which name to use.

The problem was that I didn’t want the name to sound like every other lifestyle or travel blog out there because, as you might have realized, I like to be different.

So I started brainstorming with my old friend, and we came to the conclusion that “The Real Ronen Wolf” actually has 2 meanings behind it.

One meaning was simply the real Ronen Wolf from a social media standpoint because “RonenWolf” was taken … But the other meaning had much more to do with a unique personality trait of mine.

As you’ve probably noticed by now, I’m one of the most straightforward people you’ve probably ever met. I don’t bullshit and I don’t like beating around the bush … I’ll always give it to you straight.

Hence, “The Real Ronen Wolf” was born.

No, I’m not saying that you’ll think of your blog name in the exact same way.

I’m also not saying that I gave you every detail of how I came up with my name … Obviously, there are other important factors when it comes to giving your blog a bad ass name.

But let’s stop bullshitting and get down to business.

I can only assume that, if you’re reading this, you probably have a good idea of what your blog is going to be about.

Take that idea, sit down, grab a pen and paper, write it in big letters at the top of your paper, and start getting more specific under it.

For example, let’s say my idea is traveling.

Do you know how many different subcategories there are for traveling?

There are a shitload, so I can’t just say “traveling” … I have to get more specific.

So I start writing down adventure traveling, food around the world, luxurious traveling, budget traveling, etc.

You’ll be very surprised at how effective this method can be when trying to come up with a great name for your blog.

Once you narrow your focus and have specific words in mind, you’ll have a much easier time coming up with a good name.

Essentially, if you have a general idea of what you want your blog to be about, you probably know the audience you want to attract.

Why the hell would someone even want to come to your blog? Who do you want reading your blog? What type of experience do you want your audience to have (cry, laugh, learn, etc.)? Where do you mainly want to pull your audience in from?

Of course, you’ll have a mix of answers for these questions, but you’ll definitely want to write down your answers.

When you have these answers written down, look at what you wrote down for the previous step and see if your ideas are relating to who you want your audience to be … This will help you get a better idea of which direction you’re heading in for your blog name.

The tone/voice of my brand, and my blog, are some of the most important things … All of my marketing, copy, and designs are always aligned with my tone and voice.

When people visit my blog and/or social media profiles, I want them to feel like they’re about to read and/or watch some real shit, I want them to feel like they can trust me to always be honest with them, and I want them to feel like they’ll be getting a good laugh.

These are the things that you need to consider when establishing your blog … How do you want your audience to feel when they’re on your blog? How do you want to convey yourself to your audience?

You can write about anything you want and have a clusterfuck of topics on your blog, but your tone/voice is going to connect everything together because your audience will know that it’s YOUR tone/voice.

Although figuring out your tone/voice might not be the best way to think of your blog name, it’s extremely important to know so that your blog name can relate directly to it.

Honestly, building a brand around your blog is so important if you plan on having a successful, money-making blog.

You wouldn’t want to have one name for your blog and then market your blog using a completely different name … How does that even make sense?

Sure, I may have started with building a brand and eventually created my blog, but, either way, my blog and brand are on entity and people associate my brand with

And, before I even knew that my brand name would work for my blog, I was still going through all of the steps listed above.

I also wrote down any potential name that came close to the idea of what I wanted (even though they all sucked donkey dick).

After I had a huge list of potential names, I started cutting down my list, starting with the names that I thought were absolute shit.

And, although I was able to use “The Real Ronen Wolf”, going through this process genuinely helped me and led me to what I have today.
