Hysteria Reigns at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art

The S.S. (Soldiers of Sensitivity) have claimed another victim: Gary Garrels, the long-time curator of painting and sculpture at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, who was pressured into resigning for basically nothing. However, in the Age of Rage, “basically nothing” is enough to have your public image hogtied in front of a crowd and beaten into a coma with 2x4’s with nails sticking out of them.

According to an employee, Garrels ended a presentation about new acquisitions by artists of color by saying, “Don’t worry, we will definitely still continue to collect white artists.” I’m choking on my shock and fury that an art curator would dare to promote diversity by addition (adding more seats to the table) instead of diversity by subtraction (taking seats away from others and kicking them into jelly to make room for others).

But the real atrocity is that the person who said this was a white male. Does the Gall of Garrels know no bounds? Doesn’t he know that his melanin count should determine which opinions he can declare? Let’s punish him for his ignorance that would please der Führer himself.
