No one gives a fuck about your work.

No one’s gonna accept you.

No one’s gonna hire or commission you.

No one’s gonna offer to collaborate with you.

YET.

It’s a shitty feeling, constantly knocking on doors but not being admitted. Getting rejected, ignored, overlooked, and underpaid for your hard work.

It might feel like a curse, but it’s not — it’s a goddamn gift.

Why Indifference Is a Blessing

No Pressure, No Expectations

No one’s watching you, which means there’s no one to expect anything from you. You can experiment, try new things, fail, and learn, and there’s no one to judge you or ridicule you.

Fame and recognition and status sound nice on the surface, but as soon as you get accolades for something, everyone will expect you to deliver more of the same. You’re probably not ready to tell a large audience, “deal with it,” if you break free from the formula that got you that pit of prestige to begin with, right?
