The NFL season is slated to kickoff tonight, but as you well know, the Canadian season is well underway.

And, while it’s been a while since we last updated you on Jonathan Dowling and Cameron Echols-Luper, that’s because…we really haven’t had anything to talk about.

That is, until today (despite both of these stories breaking over the holiday weekend).

First of all, the Argonauts promoted Dowling to the active roster prior to this past weekend’s matchup against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the squad CEL was associated with.

Dowling made one solo tackle as the Argos got torched in a 42–28 loss.

On the flip side of that matchup, before the game, the Ticats announced they had released Cameron Echols-Luper. He did not see the field as a member of Hamilton’s active roster.

Hopefully, CEL can find work somewhere, and fast. I can’t wait to see him on a professional field again.

As for Dowling, he and the Argos rematch with the Ticats this Saturday at 1 p.m.
