#ProTops: Mike White Has “Chance To Easily Contend” for Dallas Backup
On Monday, Mike White got his own mini feature on the Cowboys website (which grazed the front page for most of the day, as well, which is neat) in a cool segment they do (apparently) called Pick & Role, where they detail the man behind the pick (basic stuff; stats, background, etc.) and then go into what role he’ll play on the team.
Cowboys’ staff writer, Nick Eatman, likes the prospect of White becoming QB2 in Dallas, and echoed a lot of what David Halprin said in our Q&A about the best case scenario for him being Dak’s immediate backup for 2018.
Not only does he have an inexperienced veteran ahead of him in Rush, who has just three career attempts, but the team’s owner and GM said after the draft he has no interest in signing a veteran quarterback, at least not until after the preseason… Jones said he wants Rush and White to develop, and the best way to do that is to have game-action reps.

Eatman says (and I fully believe) that White will have ample time to show what he’s capable of in the four preseason games and thinks White could “easily” contend for the #2 job.
