The 2019 season was entertaining but also frustrating if your beloved team didn’t play up to their selected standards. However, for a small few, the journey is not over yet. As our former Hilltoppers start to close out their seasons, the playoff picture is tightening up for a close finish. Week 15 created some challenging storylines and not so great situations for a few teams.

On Thursday night football, Mike White’s Jets went against the Ravens. They were routed 42–21 as Lamar Jackson keeps making his case for league MVP. White remains on the practice squad. This creates a thought process of whether he will be signed to a futures contract in New York or be back on the waiver wire going into 2020.

Going into Sunday, Joel Iyiegbuniwe and his Bears traveled to Green Bay to keep their playoff hopes alive. However, The Packers remained victorious 21–13. This loss not only concluded the series sweep between the rivals but clinched a playoff berth in Green Bay. The Bears are eliminated from wild-card contention in the NFC. But on the bright side, South Warren High School’s finest picked up 20 special teams snap counts.

Taywan Taylor was not in action during the Browns loss to the Cardinals.

Deon Yelder remained inactive during the Chiefs win over the Broncos.

George Fant ALMOST could’ve had the big man touchdown that Seahawks fans (and myself) were waiting all year for. Fant had one target and played 24 offensive snap counts. He also added in an additional 5 special teams appearances. The Hawks improved to 11–3 on the year, defeating the Panthers 30–24. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has this to say regarding the Fant (ALMOST TD) reception effort post-game:

Tyler Higbee’s Rams were routed by the Cowboys on the road 44–21. They’re still trying to fight for the playoffs as they remain at 3rd place in the NFC West. Higs did have another great day of being the favorite target of Jared Goff. he was the team’s leader in receptions on Sunday. he nabbed twelve receptions for 111 yards. he was targeted fourteen times. It was just his third straight game with having yards over the century mark.

Jack Doyle’s Colts closed out the weekend with Monday Night Football. They traveled to New Orleans to battle the Saints. Jacoby Brissett wasted no time as always to start including Capt. Jack in the offensive drives. However, for another week, this didn’t last all game has the Colts faltered in trying to move the ball more than usual. The Colts were throttled 34–7. Doyle had two receptions for 22 yards.

Here’s to two more weeks in the regular season. Don’t forget to VOTE for Higs, Big George, and Capt. Jack in the upcoming Pro Bowl. As always, #PROOOOOOOTOPS!
