Report: Buffalo transfer Lamonte Bearden commits to WKU Basketball, Stansbury

Buffalo men’s basketball transfer Lamonte Bearden has committed to Western Kentucky, per CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

Bearden, a 6-foot-3, 160-pound point guard out of Milwaukee, Wisc. averaged 13.7 points, 2.9 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game with the Bulls in 2015–16. He was the team’s leader in both points and assists.

The flashy athlete comes to Bowling Green as the so-far known sixth newcomer on new-WKU head coach Rick Stansbury’s roster, as he joins freshman guards Tobias Howard, Damari Paris and Marty Leahy and redshirt senior graduate transfer guards Junior Lomomba and Que Johnson.

Although Bearden will have to sit out this upcoming season due to NCAA transfer requirements, he will two years of eligibility remaining with the Hilltoppers.
