The toughest test on the Hilltoppers schedule has come and gone, and really from here on out, every game the Tops have left is winnable. (Slow your roll Herd fans, and DJ — I’m not saying the Toppers will win every game. Just simply they could win out this season.)

This stretch of the Hilltoppers schedule commences on Saturday, when WKU heads to Oxford, Ohio to take on the RedHawks. The Tops defeated Miami last year in Bowling Green, 56–14, in a matchup that also came following the Red Towel’s first loss of the season.

To kickoff RedHawks week, here are three things to know about the MAC opponent.

1.) This Miami is in Ohio. This Oxford is also Ohio.

Yes — don’t be fooled. The Tops aren’t heading to take on Mark Richt and the Hurricanes, nor are they gearing up to take on the Fighting Bjorks from Ole Miss. This is a Mid-American Conference foe who went 3–9 last year.

2.) This might be another rough year for the RedHawks

Miami is 0–2 to start 2016, with a season-opening loss to Iowa and a loss this past week to…wait, seriously? Okay…to Eastern Illinois.

3.) The RedHawks return zero stat-leaders from last year’s meeting

The RedHawks used three quarterbacks in last year’s matchup, led by a 78 yard day from Drew Kummer on 7/12 passing. He’s gone.

Spencer McInnis (11 carries) and Gus Ragland (six carries) each logged 43 rushing yards. Yeah, they’re both gone too.

And Chris Hudson was the favorite target through the air last year, hauling in 64 yards on four catches with one of the RedHawks two touchdowns. Do I even need to say it?
