Wednesday morning, 6’11” junior center Matthew Horton said that he will be reopening his recruitment and leaving the Hill.

Horton averaged 1.1 points and one rebound in his only season at WKU. He only played in ten games and had some struggles with injuries during the year.

This does help WKU’s scholarship situation for next year. If Bassey returns for another season, that puts the Tops right at the limit of 14 scholarship players (assuming Ohmer is still on scholarship).

While Horton had limited minutes, he was still a fiery guy that was always hype on the bench celebrating his teammate’s success or provided a little spark coming into the game and getting a dunk. We wish him the best moving forward.
