Western Kentucky’s 18-game Conference USA schedule was released Friday morning, a fixture that’ll feature nine home and nine away games.

WKU’s C-USA season will open with a two-game road swing at Southern Miss (Thursday, December 30) and Louisiana Tech (Saturday, January 1).

The Tops will be off on Thursday, Jan. 6 before their longest homestand of the season of three games, against FIU (Jan. 8), Rice (Jan. 13) and North Texas (Jan. 15).

From there, it’s a Florida swing to FAU (Jan. 20) and FIU (Jan. 22) before coming home to close out the month against UAB (Jan. 27) and MTSU (Jan. 29).

February opens with a swing to Charlotte (Feb. 3) and ODU (Feb. 5) before a brief stop at Diddle (FAU, Feb. 10) ahead of a Sunday matchup at UTSA on Feb. 17.

WKU closes the season with three of their last five games at home — back-to-back contests with Charlotte (Feb. 17) and ODU (Feb. 19) and the season finale against Marshall on March 5.

The Tops’ last two road games come in Murfreesboro (Feb. 26) and in Huntington (March 3).

Yes, it’s a Thundering Herd double header to close the regular season.

As we noted yesterday, the Tops will play every C-USA opponent at least once (every East team twice) except for UTEP, who is omitted from the schedule for the second straight year.

WKU says tip-off times and TV information will come at a later date.
