If there’s one guy who has been overlooked and underhyped since signing with Western Kentucky, its freshmen Taveion Hollingsworth.

2017 Kentucky Mr. Basketball and 11th Region Player of the Year is a TRUE Freshmen. From Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky ,he stands at 6'2 165 pounds and will be seen at shooting guard, but may see action at point guard as well. Anticipate Hollingsworth to see significant playing time this year. He will play a huge role in how successful the Hilltoppers are this year.

The virtue that makes Taveion Hollingsworth, well, Taveion Hollingsworth, is his knack for scoring. He can get to the rim and finish in traffic, shoot the three-ball, has a great mid range jump shot and can find his teammates. Hollingsworth has the ability to be the Hilltoppers leading scorer this season.

In Western Kentucky’s first two preseason games, Taveion Hollingsworth was the leading scorer in both with 19 points against Samford and 20 vs. Campbellsville. He was the main option on offense and showed his capability to score at will.

Hollingsworth impresses everyone with his offensive ability, but he is also a quality defender. Against Cambellsville he came away with seven steals. He was one of the top two guys in a brutal 2–3 zone trap, and came away with many deflected passes.

Taveion Hollingsworth will lead the Hilltoppers to many victories this year, and this is only the beginning.

Projected Season Statline:

PPG: 17.4
RPG: 4.2
APG: 3.9
SPG: 2.6
BPG: 0.8
