Well well well what do we have here? Another article on a WKU sports blog that isn’t really about sports… You’re darn right!

This was something that came up recently on the RedOUT podcast (which I’m pretty sure is the only real WKU sports podcast out there with consistent tomfoolery and campus bathroom rankings) while we were talking about some of the recent roster additions. So without further ado, here is the undisputed, irrefutable top 5 ranking of best haircuts on the 2019–20 WKU Hilltoppers football team.

5. Kyle Bailey

I think everyone can agree that one of the most famous NFL hairstyles of all time was that of Pittsburgh Steeler Troy Polamalu. I think it’s also fair to compare LB Kyle Bailey’s hair to Mr. Head and Shoulders himself. Now if only he can make as many tackles as Polamalu the comparison will be complete.

4. Devon Key

Besides his stats last year, one of the talking points of the CUSA Football Kickoff was how awesome Devon’s hair was. I’ve been a fan of big hair and WKU players since Tay rocked his during his first year on the hill. As the ladies in the south always say, the higher the hair the closer to God.

3. Kyle Fourtenbary

One of the many WKU players to enter the season on an awards watchlist, Fourtenbary has the expectations of continuing WKU tight end excellence on his shoulders. He also has the weight of those long flowing locks on his shoulders as well. Channeling your inner Fabio is fine Kyle. Just remember two things:

First, that hair is part of the uniform so watch out for the little grimy hands of opposing DBs. You know CUSA refs aren’t gonna call holding and;

Stay away from roller coasters Fabio. (Man, I’m really aging myself with that reference huh?)

2. Russell Brown

This haircut was the one that started the conversation in the first place. It’s part dreadlocks, part two-toned 12th century court jester’s hat and all style. Seriously how much effort and planning does it take to match the alternating sides of your haircut?

1. Jahcour Pearson

I thought that Mr. Brown would win when I first started this list. Then I saw Jahcour Pearson. Maybe it’s because it’s so unique. Maybe it’s because his do looks like Ramen noodles and those Ramen repair videos are so popular right now. (If you haven’t seen them seriously go look them up. One person rebuilds a sink with freaking noodles, chicken flavor packet and all). Whatever it is, he wins.

Congrats Jahcour for winning 2019 Preseason Best Haircut Award!
