WKU Football: Tops picked fifth in C-USA East Division Preseason Poll

With Conference USA media days for football getting underway this week, the conference announced the preseason poll earlier Tuesday.

WKU was picked to finish in 5th place in the competitive C-USA East Division.

Ahead of the Tops are rivals Marshall and Middle Tennessee along with the Florida schools.

Tyson Helton’s first season as head coach will see them play each of their C-USA East foes while also traveling to the West’s #2 Southern Miss and hosting defending C-USA champion #4 UAB.

The polls are voted on by members of the media around the conference and while the specific results of voters has not been revealed yet, some might do so over the coming days.

In addition to the team starting in 5th place, offensive lineman Miles Pate was named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team.

The pigskin will fly to start the 2019 season in less than a month and a half as WKU will welcome Central Arkansas to the Hill for a Thursday night tilt on August 29th.
