WKU Hilltoppers: Conference USA Cancels Spring Sports, Ending Athletic Year

Late Monday evening, Conference USA announced the remaining athletic calendar for the 2019/20 season is canceled due to the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The announcement comes four days after Conference USA announced an indefinite suspension of spring sport competition, falling in line with the rest of the country who canceled basketball tournaments and placed the spring athletic season on indefinite hiatus.

WKU sports impacted by the cancelation of the season and postseason are:

• Baseball, 10–6
• Softball, 20–5
• Track & Field (men’s and women’s)
• Golf (men’s and women’s)
• Women’s Tennis, 6–10
• WKU’s spring football practices and Spring Game, scheduled for April 18

With the news, it brings a far too early offseason for Hilltopper fans everywhere.
