WKU Recruiting: Charles Bassey to Reclassify, Come to Hill — Reports
IT’S HAPPENING.
According to those in the know, Louisville center and five-star recruit Charles Bassey will reclassify and join the Hilltoppers for the 2018 season.
Not even an hour later, WKU made it official.
Bassey reclassifying has been a topic of conversation ever since the summer. WBKO’s Chad Bishop opined about that possibility back in April, and our Sam Gormley shares a sentiment I, and others on this staff felt, when he said the following:
If Bassey had waited for the full 2019 recruiting cycle, the Tops could have well have been in the picture, but the longer he waited to make a decision, the less likely it would have been. Now that Stansbury has him, he’s got him, and the 2018/19 season just got a lot more interesting.
Bassey chose the Tops over, and this is literally scraping the surface, UKY, UofL, Cal, Kansas, LSU, Texas A&M and UCLA.
There’s a lot to talk about with this news, and it’ll happen over time, but if you’re a Hilltopper fan and you’re not excited…seriously, what is wrong with you?
