The quest for five officially begins this afternoon as the Lady Toppers open the Conference USA tournament against Southern Miss in the #2/#7 matchup.

WKU logged 20 wins on the season, going 20–9 overall, but failed to reach the 30-win plateau for the first time since the 2013 team that went 27–6. It’s also worth nothing that was the last time the Lady Toppers failed to reach the NCAA Tournament, when they lost to Troy in the first round of WKU’s final Sun Belt tournament.

The winner of the Lady Tops and Eagles will get the winner of UTSA and FIU, who are the nightcap.

Of the three conference losses the Lady Tops suffered this year, only two of those teams made the tournament in Rice and North Texas. The only chance for the Lady Toppers to avenge that loss will be in a potential matchup in the C-USA title game.

For those who want to watch the Lady Tops, or the entire tournament, ESPN+ will have all the action. Games begin at 11 a.m. CT with Rice/Charlotte in the #1/#8 game.
