Ever since I began my journey in Destiny, I’ve been a Titan main. Specifically, I’ve been a Void Titan, first as an avid fan of the Thunder Dome, and then as Discount Captain America in Destiny 2. Here’s what I’m running during Season of the Wish and why purple explosions are your best friend.

The Void stares back…and then blows up

This build is all about turning groups of enemies into explosive purple orbs which then blow up other enemies. It’s like if you weaponized an MLM with space magic.

While it’s great for groups, it does suffer a bit when it comes to bosses without adds. Fortunately, those are few and far between in Destiny 2, but you’ll be focused more on clearing those groups rather than big DPS against the boss.

Subclass, Aspects, and Fragments

  • (Subclass) Sentinel Shield
    - Ward of Dawn isn’t going to do us any good as we need to be highly mobile and smashing things with our shield to make even more explosions.
  • (Class Ability) Towering Barricade
    - Which Class Ability you use here doesn’t matter too much as we’re only concerned about using it to trigger the overshield from the Bastion Aspect. I just like Towering Barricade as it gives plenty of cover.
  • (Charged Melee) Shield Bash
    - Shield Bash is a fantastic way to inflict Suppression, gain an overshield, and trigger another series of explosions.
  • (Grenade) Void Wall
    - Void Wall is essentially purple napalm that can halt enemy advances or do great deals of tick damage on stationary targets.
  • (Aspect) Controlled Demolition
    - Hitting a target with a Void ability or Volatile explosion makes them volatile. Further damage to a volatile target causes it to explode while also granting you and nearby allies health.
  • (Aspect) Bastion
    - Casting your Super or Class Ability grants an overshield for yourself and nearby allies. Standing near the barricade slowly regenerates the overshield.
  • (Fragment) Echo of Remnants
    - Grenade effects last longer.
  • (Fragment) Echo of Instability
    - Defeating foes with your grenade grants Volatile Rounds to your Void weapons. Also provides +10 Strength.
  • (Fragment) Echo of Expulsion
    - Void ability final blows cause targets to explode. Also provides +10 Intellect.
  • (Fragment) Echo of Leeching
    - Melee final blows start health regeneration for you and nearby allies. Also provides +10 Resilience.

Weapons

The following weapons, aside from Le Monarque, excel in short to medium ranges. Graviton Lance is going to be doing the heavy lifting thanks to its Exotic Perks: Black Hole and Cosmology. The former does high damage with the second shot of each burst and the latter makes enemies explode and spawn Void projectiles that track nearby targets.

Ragnhild-D is fantastic for doing high burst damage after using Shield Bash. Subsistence will reload the shell if the shot results in a kill. This makes it great for making your way out of a mob.

Retrofit Escapade is the play for boss damage phases or dealing with pesky minibosses. The Heavy Ammo Finder Mod and Fourth Time’s the Charm perk will allow you to eke out the most of a magazine.

Finally, should mob density not be high or you’re focusing on a boss and out of Heavy Ammo, Le Monarque can pick up the slack. In addition to having a quick draw time and high damage, it applies a DoT through a poison that can spread to other enemies.

  • Ragnhild-D Shotgun
    - Aggressive Frame
    - Smallbore
    - Tactical Mag
    - Subsistence
    - Thresh
    - Hakke Breach Armaments
  • Graviton Lance Exotic Pulse Rifle
  • (Alternate) Le Monarque Exotic Bow
  • Retrofit Escapade Machine Gun
    - Rapid-Fire Frame
    - Corkscrew Rifling
    - Tactical Mag
    - Fourth Time’s the Charm
    - Target Lock
    - Ambush

Armor & Mods

As for armor and Mods, there are only a few hard rules. The first is to get your Resilience up to 100 for the highest damage reduction. The second is to activate your abilities at every given opportunity.

Equipping the Exotic chest armor, Heart of Inmost Light, gives the Overflowing Light Perk. Using any ability empowers the other two, giving them faster regeneration while also making powered melee attacks and grenades do more damage. Additionally, your barricade will have more hit points.

Combined with the following selection of perks, you’ll be building Armor Charges which further buff your abilities and Void weapons. It’s a cyclical build of triggering continual explosions to buff yourself and nearby allies.

  • Helm
    - Heavy Ammo Finder
    - Harmonic Siphon x2
    - Strength Mod
  • Gauntlets
    - Font of Focus
    - Font of Vigor x2
    - Minor Strength Mod
  • Chest Armor
    - Font of Endurance
    - Charged Up
    - Resilience Mod
  • Leg Armor
    - Void Weapon Surge x2
    - Recovery Mod
  • Mark
    - Time Dilation x2
    - Recovery Mod
