With the 7.3.5 update, Bungie has brought The Summoner auto rifle back to Destiny 2. This Trials of Osiris exclusive is the latest “it” weapon in the sci-fi looter shooter. However, is it worth enduring the sweat fest that is Trials to add it to your collection? I suppose it all comes down to the roll.

How to get The Summoner in Destiny 2

Players must participate in Trials of Osiris, a 3v3 PvP mode only available between Friday and Tuesday reset times. As players complete games and increase their rank with Saint-14, they’ll acquire Trials Engrams which can be focused into specific rewards like The Summoner.

The Summoner God Rolls

PvE God Roll — The Summoner

An auto rifle that comes from a PvP activity that actually performs well in PvE? I was incredibly skeptical, but I can’t argue with the math. This roll is all about lighting things on fire and healing you in the process. Oh, and there are explosions thanks to Wild Card. Yummy yummy explosions.

  • Arrowhead Brake: Increases Recoil and Handling by 30 and 10 respectively.
  • Flared Magwell: Increases Reload Speed by 15 and Stability by 5.
  • Heal Clip: Reloading with 5.3 seconds of a kill grants Cure x2 to you and Cure x1 to allies.
  • Incandescent: Kills spread Scorch to nearby foes with more powerful enemies and opposing Guardians inflicting more Scorch stacks in a larger radius.
  • Wild Card: Kills with this weapon can create experimental submunitions at the target’s location (similar explosive effect as Telesto).
  • Masterworked (Range): Increases Range by 10.
  • Backup Mag: Increases Magazine by 8.

PvP God Roll — The Summoner

It’s only fitting to have the PvP roll for The Summoner be geared towards Trials of Osiris. Dynamic Sway Reduction and Target Lock will keep opposing Guardians in your sights while Alacrity helps level the playing field should you be the last one alive on your team. Additionally, Ricochet Rounds may land you a sneaky kill or two when shooting around a corner akin to James McAvoy in Wanted.

  • Arrowhead Brake: Increases Recoil and Handling by 30 and 10 respectively.
  • Ricochet Rounds: Rounds ricochet off hard surfaces while improving Range by 5 and Stability by 10.
  • Dynamic Sway Reduction: Improves accuracy and stability while continuously holding down the trigger.
  • Target Lock: Damage increases the longer this weapon remains on a target.
  • Alacrity: Gain increased Reload, Stability, Aim Assist, and Range when you are the last living member of your fireteam or running solo.
  • Masterworked (Range): Increases Range by 10.
  • Backup Mag: Increases Magazine by 8.
