We’ve perfected our Gisele strut, celebrated our first USA gold medal winner of the Games and shown you a genius DIY way to be Zika-free for your own backyard Olympics. As the first weekend comes to a close, it’s time to raise a drink for Rio! And what better drink to raise than Brazil’s national cocktail, the Caipirinha?

What You Need:

  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1.5 oz. Cachaça
  • 1 lime (cut in half then quartered)
  • 1 cup of ice

Instructions:

  1. Squeeze two pieces of the quartered lime into a rocks glass then throw them in there.
  2. Add the sugar!
  3. Using a wooden spoon, muddle it at the bottom of the glass.

4. Add the Cachaça and ice, garnish with some additional lime slices if you're feeling fancy, and voilà!

We’ve also seen some recipes that add seltzer or lemon-lime soda, so try that out if you’re nervous about the “lack of mixer”! Ooh—lime seltzer would also work! I can’t bring myself to run to the grocery store again, so let me know if you try that and it’s delicioso ;)

Now fill up your Rio Rings Mosaic Tray, head outside to your newly mosquito-free backyard and enjoy those drinks!

Cheers to Rio 2016!
